Bayerisches Zentrum fur Angewandte Energieforschung

Logo Zae

The Bavarian Center for Applied Energy Research (ZAE Bayern) is a non-profit institution comprising three divisions all committed to R&D in the fields of rational use of energy and regenerative energies.

Fields of activity: ZAE Bayern has a high level of expertise in the thermal characterization and thermal simulation of materials, components and systems for applications and has worked in the field of phase change materials (PCMs) for the last 15 years. ZAE was involved in the development of the test specifications for the characterization of PCM materials for the German Quality Association PCM and is one of three external monitoring institutes for the Quality Association PCM.

The role of the ZAE Bayern is therefore related to the selection and the thermal characterization of PCMs within the framework of the project as well as in the modification of the PCMs in order to change the thermal properties according to the requirements of the system.
